Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi

KEO is proud to have played a significant role in the delivery of the Louvre Museum, Abu Dhabi, The museum was officially inaugurated in November 2017 and since has had 2 million visitors a year.

Designed by Pritzker prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, the museum is located in the Saadiyat Cultural District. The museum design was inspired by the falaj water system. The museum’s geometric lace dome reflects the interlaced palm leaves traditionally used as roofing material in the Emirates. In addition to gallery spaces, the museum includes unique visitor areas including dining facilities.

KEO was engaged by Ateliers Jean Nouvel as the construction Supervising Consultant.

KEO also provided sustainability services supporting the project to achieve a LEED Silver rating and an Estidama 3 Pearls rating.

The museum has been developed by Tourism Development & Investment Company with the expertise of Agence France-Museums and in partnership with the Musée du Louvre.
