Modern Family Friendly Residential Buildings
Sabah Al Ahmad City Affordable Housing
Sabah Al Ahmad City, Kuwait
The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) requirement was to make available 2,200 apartment units, to distribute to divorced women with children on low-income status. The brief was to create dwellings where quality of life would be an important design criterion, apartment dwellings that were modern and attractive. The budget though remained very challenging.
The allocated site which required that it have a master plan of 185 residential buildings, ranging 6-8 stories each, is in Sabah Al Ahmad City, a new virgin city south of Kuwait City.
The scope required that KEO design 6 building types, with 3 elevations for each. Thereafter, once designs were approved, KEO prepared the full set of construction documentation for the 185 residential buildings.
The scope included landscape design and sustainability services.
